About SGS Guide Services: |
Streamside
guide service was founded by Tim VanGessel. Tim was born
and raised in western Michigan, where he grew up living
on the Grand River, and now resides on the beautiful
Muskegon River. This has given Tim the expertise and
passion for the river which is essential for his guiding
career. Tim has also spent time guiding in Montana and
Alaska which has given him a wide range of fly fishing
diversity. For the past seven years Tim has dedicated
himself to his passion of guiding. It is his goal to not
only get you into the fish, but to create a relaxing
environment where you can forget about your busy life
and be one with the river.
Streamside will custom
design a trip that will suit
all your fishing needs.
Whether dry fly fishing,
swinging Spey flies,
nymphing, or pulling
streamers we can help you
improve your technique.
Depending on the time of
year, and the species that
we are chasing, Streamside
will choose a river and
technique that will best
suit your fishing needs.
While Streamside focuses
mainly on fly fishing, if
you have a technique that
you prefer, we are open to
multiple styles.

Jackie Campbell: Flossmoor, Illinois |
My father and I had a fantastic day
on the river with Timmy. His knowledge, hands-on
instruction, and patience made the trip enjoyable. He
put us on fish, introduced my dad to the allure of the
Muskegon river, and we even put a few in the net. It was
a memorable day, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend
Tim Vangessel to anyone looking for the same.
